Easton's First Day of Preschool

Two days after Easton turned three, he started preschool! We had been working with an early intervention program for his speech and once he turned 3 we had to transition to the programs provided by the local school district. He was evaluated and qualified for speech therapy through the school district 20 minutes, once a week at the local elementary school. We wanted to help him with his speech as much as possible so he's on par when he enters kindergarten in a few years so we also enrolled him in a special needs preschool. Brian's sister, Stephanie's roomate works as a special needs preschool teacher in our district so we enrolled him in her class. He goes twice a week and it's about 15 minutes away but it works with Brayden's schedule and we love that Holly is his teacher! It eased my anxiety about sending my newly 3 year old off to school! He's learning normal preschool things but also gets speech therapy in a group session so it's been great. He loves being big enough to go to school like his brother! We have only had one little problem with preschool...he cries when he can't push the button to open the door when it's time to go home! It's taken about a month and he's finally not crying when I pick him up! I'm loving my little break when both the boys are in school! With the driving required to and from school and Brayden getting out an hour earlier than Easton does, I usually get about an hour to myself. It's just long enough to run a few errands or go visit with my Grandma before I get lonely for my boys! Overall, Easton's speech is improving quite a bit and we're happy with the results! He's just getting too big too fast! I recently hugged him and said, "my baby Easton" and he said, "I'm not a baby, I'm a tiny boy!" I'll take a tiny boy over a big boy anyday still!

His first day was the day after Valentine's and it was the Valentine's party for his class. He was SO excited to take Valentine's like Brayden did and he LOVED his treats and Valentine's that he brought home. It was a great first day at preschool!
