Adventures in Moving Part 1

So Brian did the last post and I thought I'd add a little more info that he left out. Since he was in Orlando, he signed a Power of Attorney and I had the power to sign for him in his absence. Well I went to the closing thinking I was just going to either sign his name on the line or sign my name on both lines and boy was I wrong! Everytime his name needed to be signed I had to write, "Brian Glen Petersen by Jamie Lynn Petersen, Attorney in Fact." EVERY STINKING TIME!! Then there were also papers that we needed to initial, and I didn't just have to write BGP for him! "BGP by JLP, his POA" was what I had to write for his initials! One hour of signing later, my hand was about to fall off and we officially had signed both our lives away for a house! It was SO much fun!! (Actually the most boring part of this whole house buying process!)

Today after the loan funded and the county recorded the purchase, we got the keys! Torey and Brayden went out with me and Brayden seemed to already feel at home! He was running around and checking everything out! The best part was that there was nothing he could hurt so he could run around all he wanted! I told him to show Torey his room and he actually went to the right room! It was cute!

After that, Torey took Brayden to Old Navy and I went to Home Depot and ordered our washer and dryer! (It's weird but I'm really excited about them! I'll post a picture once they are delivered next Friday!) Then off to Cafe Rio to pick up dinner for us and the rest of my family to celebrate the big house purchase! YUMMY!! If only Brian was here to celebrate with me! Only a few more days until he gets home! But then it's down to business as we have the carpet installed, clean the new house and our old apartment, pack, move, and then unpack! Oh so fun!

I have been trying to pack here and there since Brian's been gone and Brayden's been a big help! Yeah right! More like trying to play in the boxes I want to use and then "help" by unpacking the things I was trying to pack!

I posted before about the set back involving the deck.....here's the finished product for those of you that are interested, BRIAN! It looks good and is really strong but it's small and a weird size....maybe we'll end up expanding it one day down the road? Brian thinks it's perfect though....he only wants it to fit the new BBQ we're getting from his grandparents!
