July: A Month in Review

Here's a little bit about what kept us busy in July!!

Lowman Family Visits
We enjoyed being able to spend an hour or so with the Lowmans!!  David and Brian were friends Freshman year at BYU, both served in the Sendai Japan Mission, and then were roommates again when I met Brian.  Stacy came on the scene a little later and we've missed them since our days together at BYU!  We hadn't seen them since they moved to Iowa when Clayton was just a new baby!!  (That's Clayton and Brayden  sitting on the swing together.  We didn't get a chance to get a picture of all of us!)

Putting Brayden to Work
Brayden has decided that he loves to help Daddy mow the lawn!  We can't go outside to do ANYTHING with Brayden coming along!  He's even been know to help Grandpa Leavitt and Uncle Logan mow too!

Bees Baseball Game

We went to the Salt Lake Bees game with the Blackwell family one Monday night and had a great time!!  Brayden LOVED everything about it, especially the Bee!  He ran down at the end of the innings with Drew and Carter to try and get a baseball from one of the players!  Carter and Brayden ended up both getting one and you would have thought it was Christmas the way Brayden reacted!  People in the crowd were even watching him as he walked back up to our seats with the HUGEST grin on his face!  The three boys also got balloon swords and holsters for their swords from the balloon lady!  It was a really fun night!

Leavitt Family Reunion/24th of July
Brayden enjoyed swimming with Tye and Spencer and all the other cousins too!

Almost the entire Leavitt Family got together for ONE DAY...July 24th!  We were only missing the 3 missionaries, Uncle Dan, and Brian!  We all headed up to spend the day at Julie and Todd's vacation home in Park City and enjoyed visiting, swimming, hearing stories of our Pioneer ancestors, and playing games!  It also happened to be my Dad's 50th birthday so we got to see some old pictures of him and celebrate (as much as he would let us).  We also enjoyed the week or so that my Grandpa and Grandma Leavitt were here!  We've seen them quite a bit lately and Brayden just LOVES them!

Cedar Hills Days
Mom and Brayden getting ready to enjoy the parade!

This just shows you how much candy they handed out!  Brayden had almost half a grocery bag full!
Playing with the glow sticks and glow ball!
He loved to throw the ball up in the air and it was great because we could see where he was with the necklaces on!
Every little town in Utah has their weeklong celebration and Cedar Hills has there's around the 24th of July!  Brian was out of town so we just ended up staying at my parents for the weekend so we could enjoy all the festivities!  We went to the parade on Saturday morning and Brayden got SOOO much candy!  He was running all over for the candy and one of the cars in the parade had to stop for him since he was in the MIDDLE of the street getting candy!  He didn't understand that he couldn't just run out there!!  The Price family all came over for dinner and then came the thunderstorms!!  The fireworks ended up being cancelled due to wind that night and then rescheduled for Monday night!  Brian got to join us after all!  It's always a good fireworks show!!!

Brayden is Potty Trained!
This kept us pretty busy and close to home for awhile!  I'm not quite sure when we started but we've been diaper/pull up free for AWHILE now!! Yippee!!  We're still having the occasional accident but they are usually few and far between!  The first time we had to pull off to the side of the road, a highway patrol officer came to see if we were alright!  I was worried we'd get in trouble for having him pee on the side of the freeway!  But no worries or tickets for urinating in public!!  He's even become quite particular about where he goes...no port-a-pottys for him!!

A Visit from Aunt Carrie and Aunt Stephanie

I don't know how I didn't manage to take a single picture while they were here visiting for a few days but we had a lot of fun!  A girls lunch and outing, eating, spending time together, playing games, eating out, feeding the ducks, and a wonderful breakfast before the left!  Thanks for coming girls!!  We'll see you soon!

**I'm sure I'm missing a few other fun things we did in July but this post is already LONG!!  I do know we said farewell to our good friends, Rob and Terilyn Zawrotny, before they moved to North Carolina!  I need a copy of that picture you took Teri!!

Hey girlie! Im so sorry I havent' gotten back to you. Life is busy! We actually are not having visitors right now since he was in icu and all. Were just kinda staying low. The only person that has been here is my mom. not even any other fam or anything. So if its cool we can just have you guys come as soon as you get home. By then hopefully life will be somewhat normal. I hope you have a great trip and look forward to seeing you!

Wow talk about a fun summer! Gotta love the good old Cedar Hills days! haha! I was there too of course, but didn't see you! Good luck with the potty training. Honestly too me, potty training is the absolute WORST part of being a mother! ( I'm only referring to the toddler years of course.)But hey 3 down and only two more to go for me....Wahoo!
