Brayden's 5th Birthday Party (February 17, 2011)

Another post in an effort to one day be caught up....

We celebrated Brayden's 5th Birthday party two weeks early this year since Daddy had some time off and we had planned his BIG birthday surprise trip to be on his actual birthday. (His BIG birthday surprise-DISNEYLAND...posts to come!)
He wanted a superhero themed party and his two favorites are Batman and Superman so that's what we went with!
I cut out spiders, spider webs, and bats with my silhouette and hung them from the light over the dining table.
My neighbor made this cake! I found a picture of this on the internet and she completely was able to copy it for us! Brayden LOVED it!
Also with my silhouette I made this Batman inspired birthday banner.

We invited 11 kids over for his party and it was a hit! They colored pictures of Batman and Spiderman and then decorated superhero masks.
Brian helped Brayden decorate his mask.
Then the kids played Pass the Kryptonite (hot potato style) with a green bean bag I sewed.

Then we played Pin the Spider on the spiderweb.

After that game, the kids got their superhero capes and Brian read a Superhero ABC book to them.
Almost all the kids we had over for the party.
Then we split them in groups and they stuffed balloons in shirts to have "muscles" like superheroes.
Our superheros with their "muscles"!
Brayden with his birthday cake!
Our gift to Brayden....a new bike!
A few of the other gifts...
Buzz Lightyear lego from Grandma and Grandpa Leavitt
Knee pads from Mom and Dad to go with a gift from Grandma & Grandpa Petersen.
A PlayDoh set from Grandma & Grandpa Leavitt
A skateboard from Grandma & Grandpa Petersen!!

He went downstairs into the basement with all his gear on to try the skateboard ....
and he fell!
That resulted in tears and no more skateboarding for him that night!
